Claims (11)
- 기록 비임에 의해 형성된 방사선 스포트의 위치에서 다이오드 레이저 기록 비임 및 자기장에 의해 정보층내의 영역의 자화 방향이 국부적으로 변화됨으로써 정보가 기록되고, 그 결과로 형성된 정보는 다이오드 레이저 판독 비임의 분극화 상태가 정보 영역에 의해 변화되는 것을 검출함으로써 판독되는 방식으로, 정보층에 있는 회절 제한 방사선 스포트에 집중되는 다이오드 레이저 방사선에 의해서, 그리고 상기 방사선 스포트와 이에 관련된 레코드 캐리어와의 이동에 의하여 레코드 캐리어의 자기 광학 정보층에 정보를 기록 및 판독하는 방법에 있어서, 이동 방향으로의 치수가 기록 방사선 스포트의 치수보다 더 작은 정보 영역은 이동 방향으로의 방사선 스포트의 치수와 동일한 거리만큼 레코드 캐리어와 방사선 스포트를 서로에 관해 이동시키는데 필요한 시간 간격보다 더 짧은 시간 간격으로 자기장을 스위칭 함으로써 기록되는 것과, 기록을 실행하는 다이오드 레이저 비임의 파장보다 더 짧은 다이오드 레이저 비임의 파장에 의하여 판독이 이루어지는 것을 조합하는 것을 특징으로 하는 기록 및 판독 방법.
- 미리 제공된 트랙 구조물의 폭이 정보 영역의 폭을 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 제1항의 방법을 사용하기에 적합한 레코드 캐리어.
- 제2항에 있어서, 트랙 방향에 대해 횡단하는 트랙 구조물의 주기가 1.4㎛ 보다 작은 것을 특징으로 하는 레코드 캐리어.
- 제2항 혹은 제3항에 있어서, 트랙 구조물이 릴리프 구조물이고, 자기 광학층이 일정 두께를 갖고 있으며 또 코어로부터 시작하여 외측으로 팽창되는 자기 영역에 의해 기록중에 정보 영역이 형성되는 재료를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 레코드 캐리어.
- 제4항에 있어서, 자기 광학 재료는 가돌리늄(Gd), 테르븀(Tb) 및 철(Fe)의 합금인 것을 특징으로 하는 레코드 캐리어.
- 제2항에 있어서, 트랙내의 자기 광학층은 트랙 외측보다 더 큰 자화 민감성을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 레코드 캐리어.
- 제6항에 있어서, 트랙내의 자기 광학층은 트랙 외측과는 다른 화학 조성을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 레코드 캐리어.
- 제6항에 있어서, 트랙내의 자기 광학층의 두께는 트랙 외측의 두께와는 다른 것을 특징으로 하는 레코드 캐리어.
- 주사 비임을 공급하는 방사선 공급원과, 정보층상에 주사 스포트로서 주사 비임을 집중하는 대물렌즈 시스템과, 주사 스포트의 위치에서 자기장을 발생하는 자기 시스템 및 레코드 캐리어로부터 나온 방사선을 전기 신호로 변환하는 방사선 민감성 검출 시스템을 포함하며, 제1항의 방법을 수행하는 장치에 있어서, 방사선 공급원이 제1파장과 기록 방사선 스포트를 형성하는 제1강도를 가진 기록 방사선 비임을 공급하고, 또한 제1파장보다 더 짧은 제2파장과 제1강도보다 더 적은 제2강도를 갖고 기록 방사선 스포트보다 더 적은 판독 방사선 스포트를 형성하는 판독 방사선 비임을 공급하는 합성원(composite source)인 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제9항에 있어서, 방사선 공급원이 제1파장을 가지는 기록 방사선 비임을 공급하는 제1다이오드 레이저와, 제1파장의 절반 정도의 제2파장을 가지는 판독 방사선 비임을 공급하는 제2다이오드 레이저와 광학 주파수 중첩 요소의 조립체로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제9항에 있어서, 방사선 공급원이 하나의 다이오드 레이저와, 다이오드 레이저 비임용 두 방사선 통로중 어느 하나를 선택하여 다이오드 레이저 비임의 통로에 배치된 제어가능한 편향 요소, 및 상기 두 방사선 통로중 어느 하나에 배치된 주파수 중첩 요소로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
