Abstract

본 고안은 치아의 측면과 치주포켓트 속의 치석을 동시에 용이하게 제거하고 또한 오래 사용할 수 있는 치솔을 제공하기 위한 것으로, 통상의 테이퍼링형 치솔에 있어서, 필라멘트를 반으로 접은 후 반으로 접은 양쪽 끝부분의 테이퍼링되는 지점을 각각 3/4되는 지점과 7/8되는 지점으로 그 길이를 달리한 후 식모함을 특징으로 한다.

본 고안은 치솔에 관한 것으로, 더 구체적으로는 내구성과 치석제거 효과가 우수한 치솔에 관한 것이다.
예로부터 치아의 건강은 오복중의 하나라고 하여 매우 중요시 되었으며, 치아의 건강을 위한 가장 좋은 방법은 일반인들이 잘 아는 것처럼 규칙적으로 식후에 치아를 깨끗이 닦는 것이다.
따라서, 치아를 닦을 때 사용되는 치솔 역시 중요시되어야 하는 것이나, 예전에는 단순히 치솔을 치아를 닦기 위한 도구로서 인식했을 뿐이었다. 그러나 생활수준이 향상되고 사람들이 자신의 건강에 더욱 관심을 가지는 현재에는 단순히 치아를 닦기 위한 도구로서가 아니고, 치아의 건강을 위한 제품으로 치솔을 인식하고 있으며, 따라서 품질을 향상시킨 치솔을 개발하려는 노력이 활발해지고 있다.
특히, 치아에 생기는 치석은 이를 그냥 방치할 경우 치아가 약해지기 쉽고, 보기에도 좋지 않을 뿐만 아니라, 오래 방치된 치석을 제거하기 위해서는 따로 스켈링을 해야 하는 불편이 있기 때문에 치석제거가 용이한 치솔을 개발하면 쉽게 치석제거를 할 수 있게 된다.
현재 일반적으로 사용되는 치솔은 제1도에서 도시한 바와 같이, 치솔 식모가 끝이 수평인 커트형 치솔이다. 이러한 치솔은 필라멘트 양쪽의 끝부분을 균일하게 커트하여 약간 둥글게 연마한 후 반으로 접어 식모하여 제조함으로 제조가 간편하고 따라서 제조단가가 저렴한 장점이 있다.
그러나 이러한 형태의 치솔은 식모된 솔의 끝부분이 아래부분과 동일한 일자형이어서 치아표면의 치석제거에는 용이하나, 단순한 일자형이기 때문에 치아와 잇몸의 경계부에 위치하는 치주 포켓트 속의 치석제거가 어려운 단점을 지니고 있다. 또한 식모의 재질이 흡수성이 높은 나일론이기 때문에 수명도 짧아서, 오래 사용하면 식모가 원형을 유지하지 못하고, 뭉개어지므로 자주 치솔을 바꾸어 줘야 하는 불편이 있다. 또한 식모된 솔이 지나치게 강하여 치솔질을 할 때 잇몸에 상처를 주는 경우가 자주 발생하는 문제점이 있다.
이 점을 보완하여 제2도에서 도시한 바와 같은 테이퍼링형의 식모로 된 치솔이 개발된바 있다. 이 치솔은 반으로 접힌 필라멘트의 3/4지점 부터를 점점 끝이 가늘어지는 테이퍼링형으로 제조한 후 식모하기 때문에 식모의 끝 부분이 부드럽고 유연하여 치주 포켓트 속의 치석제거가 용이하고, 그 재질도 나일론이 아닌 폴리부틸렌테레프탈레이트(P.B.T)이므로 흡습성 및 내구성이 뛰어나, 수명이 길어서 오래 사용할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그러나, 식모된 솔의 끝부분 1/4정도가 테이퍼링됨으로 인하여 힘이 약하므로 많은 힘이 필요한 치아 측면의 치석제거에는 불리한 점이 있다.
따라서, 최근에는 현재 사용되는 치솔과 상기 테이퍼링형 치솔의 단점을 개선한 치솔이 개발되었는데, 이 치솔의 식모는 제3도에서 도시한 바와 같이 필라멘트를 반으로 잡은 일자형의 솔과 반으로 접은 필라멘트 끝부분 3/4지점부터 테이퍼링 시킨 테이퍼링형의 솔이 교대로 이어지는 절충형으로서 테이퍼링형의 유연성과 일자형의 강성을 동시에 지님으로 치주 포켓트 속의 치석 및 치아 측면의 치석을 동시에 제거할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
그러나 식모된 솔의 끝부분 모양이 일정하지 않음으로 하여 수명이 짧은 단점이 있으며, 또한 종래의 테이퍼링형과 커트형 치솔의 장점을 동시에 가지기도 하지만 단점도 동시에 가지고 있다. 즉, 테이퍼링부는 치주 포켓트의 치석제거에는 유리하게 작용하지만 전체 식모된 솔의 1/2밖에 되지 않기 때문에 치석제거 효과도 종래의 테이퍼링형 치솔에 비하여 절반 밖에 되지 않으며, 나머지 절반의 커트형 솔은 잇몸을 상하게 할 가능성이 있다.
본 고안은 상기 종래 기술들의 문제점을 해결하여 치아의 측면과 치주포켓트 속의 치석을 동시에 용이하게 제거하고 또한 오래 사용할 수 있는 치솔을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
본 고안자는 상기 목적을 달성하기 위하여 예의 연구한 결과, 전체식모를 테이퍼링형으로 하되, 필라멘트의 양쪽 끝부분의 테이퍼링되는 부분의 길이를 2가지로 달리하고 반으로 접어 식모함으로써 치아의 측면과 치주포켓트 속의 치석을 동시에 용이하게 제거할 수 있음을 알게 되어 본 고안을 완성하게 되었다.
이하 본 고안을 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
본 고안의 치솔은 식모된 솔을 제4도에 나타낸 바와 같이 종래의 테이퍼링형 제품처럼 테이퍼링형으로 하되, 필라멘트를 반으로 접은 후 반으로 접은 지점을 각각 3/4되는 지점과 7/8되는 지점으로 그 길이를 달리한 후 식모함으로써, 일정 수준이상의 유연성은 유지하면서도, 강성이 종래의 테이퍼링형 치솔보다 강해지고, 또한 식모된 솔의 3/4되는 지점부터 테이퍼링형 시킨 솔 부분에 의하여 치주포켓트 속의 치석제거도 용이한 치솔이다.
즉 본 고안의 치솔은 종래의 테이퍼링형 치솔과 같이 침상의 끝부분을 가졌으므로 치주포켓트 속의 치석제거 효과는 종래의 테이퍼링형 치솔과 동일하지만, 필라멘트의 양쪽 끝부분의 테이퍼링되는 부분의 길이를 2가지로 달리하고 반으로 접어 식모함으로써, 강성이 종래의 테이퍼링형 치솔보다 강하여 치아 자체에 부착한 이물질의 제거 효과가 휠씬 우수하며, 또한 종래의 테이퍼링형 커트형을 결합시킨 치솔에 비하여는 치주포켓트 속의 치석제거 효과가 우수함은 물론 식모된 솔의 모양은 균일하여 치솔의 수명이 길며, 식모된 솔의 끝부분이 가늘어서 잇몸을 충분히 보호할 수 있는 효과를 나타낸다.

Claims (1)

  1. 솔의 끝부분으로부터 1/4이상 동일하게 테이퍼링 되어 식모된 통상의 테이퍼링형 칫솔에 있어서, 솔의 반은 끝부분의 1/4이 테이퍼링 되고, 나머지 반은 끝부분의 1/8이 테이퍼링 된 침상의 솔이 식모된 것을 특징으로 하는 테이퍼링형 솔이 식모된 치솔.
