Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A 5-perfluorocarbonylamino-1-amino-1-carboxypentane derivative shown by formula I (Rf is >=3C perfluoroalkyl). EXAMPLE:A compound shown by formula II. USE:A lubricant. A magnetic recording medium obtained by forming a ferromagnetic metallic thin film as a magnetic layer on a non-magnetic substrate and applying a novel compound shown by formula I to the ferromagnetic metallic thin film. The magnetic recording medium maintaining lubricating effects for a long period and maintaining excellent runnability, wear resistance nd durability. PREPARATION:For example, an equimolar amount of lysine and nonadecafluorodecanoic acid are dissolved in a water-methanol mixed solvent, cooled and formed crystal is filtered and separated. The crystal is dried, added to xylene, dehydrated by heating under reflux, incorporated with methanol, filtered, dried and recrystallized from acetic acid to give the example compound shown by formula II.
