Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a photosensitive body high in sensitivity and low in residual potential at low cost by forming an electric charge transfer layer made of a specified polymer material and a photoconductive layer made of a specified amorphous material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body is formed by successively laminating the charge transfer layer 2 and a photoconductive layer 3 on a supporting body 1. The layer 2 is made of a polymer compound having p-phenylene units in the main chain direction combining with at least one of S, Se and Te atoms at the para position, such as poly-p-phenylenesulfide (PPS), and it is preferred to add an electron acceptor, such as TCNQ, into the film. The layer 3 is formed of an amorphous layer of Si as a main constituent containing at least one of O, C, and N, such as a-Si-1-xOx:H. The layer 2 is formed by heat melting and attaching said film to the supporting body 1.
