PURPOSE:To maintain high contrast, to inhibit fog in a dot picture image, and to improve the contrast of a silver halide photographic sensitive material by forming at least one silver halide emulsion layer and incorporating a specified compd. thereinto. CONSTITUTION:A compd. expressed by formula I is incorporated into at least one silver halide emulsion layer of a silver halide photographic sensitive material. In formula I, each R1 and R2 is an aryl or heterocyclic group; R is an org. joint group; n is 0-6; m is 0 or 1; when n is >=2, each R may be same or different to each other. Preferred R1 and R2 are aryl group. Preferred R is an alkylene group. By this constitution, high contrast of a photographic picture image is maintained, and fog in a dot picture image is inhibited, and the contrast is improved.
