Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber compsn. having wear resistance and low heat build-up, by adding a carbon black having a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area and DBP absorption in a specified characteristic region and a specified aggregate distribution to a rubber. CONSTITUTION:A rubber compsn. wherein 20-100pts.wt. carbon black whose nitrogen adsorption specific surface area and DBP absorption are in the characteristic regions of 130-160m<2>/g and 100ml/100g or more, respectively, and whose aggregate distribution measured by means of a centrifugal method has a bimodal distribution satisfying the following items is added to 100pts.wt. rubber: (1) the modal diameter of a lower aggregate distribution (the first peak) is <=70mum, and (2) the modal diameter of a higher aggregate distribution (the second peak) is <=110mum. When the compounding ratio of the carbon black is less than 20pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. rubber, it is impossible to obtain the aimed highly reinforced rubber compsn. On the other hand, when it is higher than 100pts.wt., it is impossible to obtain the aimed low heat build-up rubber compsn. Therefore, the compounding ratio should be within the range of 20-100 pts.wt.
