Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an industrial microbicide containing a halogenated aliphatic nitroalcohol and other compound as active components, exhibiting excellent microbicidal action by synergistic effect and applicable widely against harmful microorganisms such as molds and bacteria. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains (A) a halogenated aliphatic nitroalcohol of formula [R<1> and R<2> are H, halogen or (substituted)alkyl; X is halogen], e.g. 2-bromo-2-nitropropanediol-(1,3) or 2,2-dibromo-2-nitroethanol and (B) 5-chloro-2,4,6-difluoroisophthalonitrile as active components. The weight ratio of A/B is usually 1/10-10/1. The agent is prepared by homogeneously mixing the above two components and used in the form of aqueous solution, solvent solution, emulsified dispersion, etc., by adding a carrier or adjuvant. It is especially suitable for the treatment of industrial water for the manufacture of paper and pulp.
