Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve hydrophilic nature and to reduce the resistance to air permeability by coating the fin material of aluminum with a surface active agent added to water soluble resin. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the sheet of aluminum or aluminum alloy is coated with a surfactant added to water soluble resin, whereby the fin material for the heat exchanger having the coat excellent in hydrophilic nature and the small resistance to air permeability, may be obtained. As the water soluble resin, water soluble cellulose resin is most preferable, and then, polyvinyl alcohol is suitable. In the surfactant added to the water soluble resin, the molecular weight of hydrophobic radical is preferably at most 400, and hydrophilic radical is most preferably phosphoric acid radical or phosphoric ester.
