Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner high in polymerization yield and molecular weight by suspension polymerizing a polymerizable monomer containing carbon black dispersed finely and uniformly into it by an azobisisobutyronitrile type polymerization initiator. CONSTITUTION:A carbon black is dispersed into a polymerizable monomer in the presence of a peroxide type polymerization initiator. Then, the monomer liquid contg. the carbon black is suspended into water and allowed to polymerize the monomer by over again adding the azobisisobutyronitrile type polymerization initiator into the suspension. Thus the toner containing the carbon black finely and uniformly dispersed into it and having a high molecular weight and uniform particle diameters can be obtained with high polymerization yield.
