PURPOSE:To improve the purity and the recovery rate of product by carrying out the changing-over from adsorption stage to regeneration stage by using the concn. of product at the outlet of adsorption tower in the adsorption stage or the concn. of a component of impurities as an indicator. CONSTITUTION:For instance, a raw gas (a), such as coke oven gas, is sent to adsorption towers 1a-1c to adsorb CH4, and the concn. of product component (CH4) or the concn. of impurity component (N2) in the discharge gas discharged from the outlet of adsorption tower in the adsorption stage is measured, and the process is changed over to the regeneration process when the measured value is reached the set value set in advance. In the regeneration stage, the product gas (b) is recovered by evacuation.
