Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a superior image by treating a binder type carrier with acid or the like to remove a magnetic powder disclosed on the surface of the carrier and maintaining high electric resistivity even under high humidity. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic carrier is produced by sufficiently mixing the resin to be used as the binder and a magnetic material soluble in acid, for example, with a mixer, pulverizing the mixture, melting and kneading it with an extrusion kneader, cooling the obtained product, finely pulverizing and classifying it to obtain particles having a prescribed particle diameter of 20-100mum, and finally, treating with the acid to remove the magnetic powder present on the surfaces of the particles, thus permitting the obtained carrier to have high resistivity even under high humidity, and not to attach to a photosensitive body and to an image to be developed, and an image free from image defects to be obtained.
