Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the time of initialization by shifting the contents of a virtual memory space that are set at the previous end point of time of a system and copied to an external memory at the time of the restart to a virtual memory space set at the present point of time from the external memory. CONSTITUTION:The contents of a system set in a memory space at the end point of time of the system on a work station are copied to an external memory. Then the contents of a virtual memory space set at the previous point of time of the system and copied to the external memory at the time of the restart are shifted to the virtual memory space set at the present point of time from the external memory. Thus the initialization is attained just by shifting the system contents between the virtual memory space and the external memory when a simple system is restarted and the switch is started among plural systems. As a result, the time needed for initialization is shortened and the system can be restarted in a working environment set at the job end point of time. Then it is not required to perform such initialization jobs including the opening job of a working file that is carried out at the rise time.
