Abstract
PURPOSE:To quickly execute switching by allowing kernels of plural OSs to be resident in a main storage, inputting an interruption to a processor at the time of switching the OS, reserving a data of an operation environment of the OS before switching, in a secondary storage, and also, reading out the data of the operation environment from a secondary storage. CONSTITUTION:Kernels 14, 16 of plural OSs (Operating Systems) are stored in a main storage, and at the time of switching the OS, an environmental data of the present OS is reserved in a secondary storage, and also, an environmental data of a new OS to be switched is read out of the secondary storage and reset. Therefore, since the kernels 14, 16 are resident in the main storage, switching is executed quickly. Also, the environmental data of the OS is reserved, read out again and reset, therefore, when the OS has been returned to its origin, the previous work environment can be continued, and it is unnecessary to set newly the environment. Moreover, since the environmental data is saved in the secondary storage, it does not occur that an area of the main storage becomes narrow, and many applications can be executed.
