Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic having raised stability of an extract of crude drug, gradually eluting the extract in contact with the surface of the skin, gradually showing performance of the crude drug, by blending a powdery or granular cosmetic with a hydrophobic styrenic adsorption resin having fine pores having adsorbed the extract of crude drug. CONSTITUTION:An extract of crude drug is adsorbed on a hydrophobic styrenic adsorption resin having fine pores, preferably a styrenic resin preferably having 140-1,500nm fine pore diameter, 0.4-1.5ml/g fine pore volume and 400-700m<2>/g specific surface area, which is blended with a powdery or granular cosmetic. When the cosmetic is brought into contact with the surface of the skin and used, the extract of crude drug is gradually eluted from the adsorption resin depending upon temperature of the surface of the skin, water content and an oil-soluble component.
