Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower the accuracy of a multiplier and to reduce the cost of a circuit by separating a correction matrix into a unit matrix and a correction difference matrix where the absolute value of each component is small, and multiplying chrominance components by only the correction difference matrix.
CONSTITUTION: A color difference calculating circuit 101 calculates chrominance components U=R-G and V=G-B (152) from shading-corrected color image signals R, G, and B (151). Then a matrix circuit 102 calculates a correction difference RGB signal (ΔR, ΔG, ΔB) (153) from the output color difference signals U and V (152). The correction difference RGB signal (ΔR, ΔG, ΔB) 153 is added to an original RGB signal 151 by an adding circuit 103. Consequently, a correction RGB signal 156 corrects an irregularity in hue between chips.
