Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a colored mirror to be accepted in a salt water boiling test by laminating a film consisting of a high-refractive index material and film consisting of a middle-refractive index material on the rear face of a glass base plate and laminating a metallic reflecting film directly on the outside thereof or the outside interposed with a film consisting of a high-refractive index material. CONSTITUTION:The 1/4lambda film 2 consisting of TiO2 or ZrO2 which is the high- refractive index material and the 3/4lambda film 3 consisting of Al2O3 which is the middle-refractive index material are formed by vacuum deposition or sputtering on the rear face of the glass base plate 1 and the reflecting film 5 consisting of metallic chromium is laminated thereon. Namely, the rear face mirror is obtd. by forming the 2- or 3-layered dielectric films consisting of the high- refractive index material and the middle-refractive index material. The reflecting mirror which is accepted in the salt water boiling test while the necessary spectral reflectivity characteristics is maintained is thereby obtd.
