Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality plated product having uniform plating thickness in the cross direction with high efficiency and without using a shielding plate by passing a steel strip through >=1 plating baths, and applying a specified controlled plating current to each split electrode of the plural electrodes split in the cross direction in the final plating bath. CONSTITUTION:The steel strip 1 is passed through >=1 plating baths 20 in the direction as shown by the arrow along a pass line, and finally introduced into the final plating bath 2 provided with the split electrodes 4-1-4-7 obtained by splitting an electrode 4 into n-split electrodes (e.g., n=7). The plating thickness is measured in the bath 2 through a current controller 6 and a plating amt. meter 5 for measuring the plating thickness, each measured value corresponding to the respective split electrodes is compared with a desired value to obtain the current deviation for each split electrode, the currents for the respective split electrodes 4-1-4-7 are controlled based on the deviation to uniformize the plating thickness, and plating is carried out.
