Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a plating layer of constant thickness and alloy composition by controlling the frequencies and width of pulses in accordance with the traveling speed of a material to be plated in conduction of pulse electricity which is made constant of a conduction level.
CONSTITUTION: A thin steel sheet 1 is carried out with plating by conduction of electricity from an electric power source 10 in a plating bath 2 after defatting and pickling. The speed of the sheet 1 is detected as pulses with a rotary encoder 3, and the pulses generated by this are amplified and waveform shaped with an amplifier 4, after which they are applied to a monomultivibrator 5. Here, the pulses of the width synchronized with the pulses generated by the encoder 3 are obtained and these are applied to a DC constant voltage power source 10 through an AND gate 6 during the time of plating treatment, whereby the conduction of pulse electricity of a constant level is accomplished. The conduction level is set at a constant value in accordance with alloy compositon. Thereby, the plating layer of constant thickness and alloy composition despite the fluctuation in the sheet speed is obtained.
