Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a resin dispersion suitable as an additive for curable resins, capable of giving primers of high adhesivity, by dispersing a specific modified polypropylene in a solid state in a hydrocarbon solvent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective resin dispersion can be obtained by dispersing, in a solid state, (A) a modified polypropylene either partially or wholly graft- modified with unsaturated carboxylic acid (anhydride) in (B) a hydrocarbon solvent (e.g., toluene). Said modified polypropylene has the following characteristics: 1. total graft content of the unsaturated carboxylic acid and unsaturated carboxylic anhydride units ... 0.5W20wt.% (pref. 0.8W10wt.%), 2. existing molar ratio of the carboxyl group to the carboxylic acid anhydride group ... 0.4W4 (pref. 0.6W2).
