Abstract
PURPOSE: A thermoplastic polymer composition having excellent mechanical properties, prepared by mixing in a specific ratio, a modified conjugated diene polymer with a polyamide.
CONSTITUTION: There are mixed (A) a modified conjugated diene polymer prepared by the addition reaction between 100pts.wt. of (a) a conjugated diene block copolymer prepared from a vinyl aromatic compound and a conjugated diene compound, in a weight ratio of about 10/90W90/10, (block copolymers having a number-average MW of about 2×104W5×105 and a MW distribution of about 1.05W 10, are preferred) and (b) about 0.05W20pts.wt. of an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof, such as maleic anhydride and (B) a polyamide, pref., nylon 6 or nylon 66 having a number-average MW of 200W30,000 and a m.p. of about 150W270°C. The mixing weight ratio of (A) to (B) is 98/2W2/98. As a method of mixing, melt-mixing through an extruder is preferred.
