Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the safe operation and to reduce the power consumption of a pump by combining the temperature of return water of compressor cooling water and the discharge pressure of the water feed pump to control the rotational frequency of the water feed pump. CONSTITUTION:Thermometers 6 and 7 are attached to return water lines of compressors in a group A and a group B respectively. Outputs from thermometers 6 and 7 are converted by converters 6a and 7a, and higher one of these temperatures is selected through a high selector 3 and is inputted to a controller 2. The controller 2 sends a signal corresponding to the difference between a set temperature and the input temperature to a rotational frequency controller 1, and the rotational frequency of a pump 8 is controlled by a motor 8a. If the temperature of return water of cooling water is lower than the set temperature, the rotational frequency of the pump 8 is reduced to reduce the power because cooling water flows more than necessary. Meanwhile, the pump is so controlled that the rotational frequency is not lower than the lower limit of the rotational frequency corresponding to the discharge pressure, and the safe operation is secured and the power consumption is reduced.
