本発明はオイルシール用金属環の製造方法に関
し、更に詳しくは製品の軽量化と使用材料の節約
とをもたらすオイルシール用金属環の製造方法を

従来、第1図に例示する如く、円筒部2と円筒
部2の一端から内方へ伸びる径方向部3を備える
板状材料製金属環1及びゴム様弾性材料を用いて
製せられ、金属環1の内方端部に接着されたシー
ル部材5から成るオイルシールの金属環1の製作
に当つては、あらかじめ、径方向部3の貫通孔の
中抜及び円筒部2の端縁を規制する外抜寸法を形
成する外抜を行なつて略蛇の目形状の環状板材を
形成するとともに、該略蛇の目形状の環状板材に
対し曲げしぼり加工を施す金属環成形用金型を用
意し、プレス機械を使用し、第2図に示すよう
に、帯状を呈し、金属環1と同等の肉厚寸法を備
える板材を適宜の送りピツチをもつて供給し、外
抜工程、中抜工程及び曲げしぼり工程を略同時に
実施して、第3図に示すような円筒部2と、円筒
部2の一端から内方へ伸び、貫通孔を抜き取られ
た径方向部3とを有する金属環1となすのである
が、従来帯状板材の巾寸法B及び材料送りピツチ
は、外抜寸法D0に対し、
B=D0+(1.5〜3.5mm),p=D0+1.5mm×2程

ることに着目して、帯状板材の巾寸法及び材料送
りピツチを上記した金属環の外抜寸法に比し小さ
く設定することにより、金属環製作のための材料
の節減及び製品の軽量化をもたらし、しかも製品
の巾寸法を正常に形成して、ベアリング等に対す
るオイルシールの相対位置を適宜に規制するとと
もに、取扱い時等におけるゴム様弾性材製シール
部材を防護し得るオイルシール用金属環の製造方

向する位置にある弦部を欠除された形状に形成さ
れ、径方向部の中抜加工及び曲げしぼり加工を同
時になし得る構造を備えて、第4図上に二点鎖線
をもつて示すごとく、外抜寸法D0に比し小なる
幅寸法B′を備える帯状板材を互いに対向して欠除
された弦部を結ぶ方向に挿入され、外径寸法D0
に比し小なる送りピツチをもつて送り込まれ、第
5図に示すごとく、外径寸法D0を直径とする円
形に対し円周上4分割された箇所の弦部を欠除さ
れたブランクを形成し、略同時に施される曲げし
ぼり加工により、第6図に示すごとく、円筒部2
の径方向部3に対し反対側の端部の円周上4箇所
に、略円弧状の欠除部7を備えるオイルシール用

の相対位置が正常に規制され、又、欠除部7の軸
方向深さのeのコントロールにより、嵌合部にお

に供給する工程と、前記金属環成形用金型に対し
押圧力を付加して、外抜加工、中抜加工及び曲げ
しぼり加工を施して、軸方向端部に略円弧状の欠
除部7を形成された前記円筒部2及び前記径方向
部3を形成させる工程とから成るオイルシール用
