Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide heat-sensitive recording paper in which discoloration due to chemicals or oils and background fog are controlled, obtained by providing a coating layer containing a polyhydroxy compound and a fluorine surfactant on a heat-sensitive color forming layer containing an electron donor dye and an org. acid as color forming components. CONSTITUTION:For example, a substantially colorless electron donor dye, e.g., 3-diethylamino-6-chloro-7-(beta-ethoxyethyl)aminofluoran, and an org. acid (e.g., bisphenol A) are separately added to a dispersion medium containing 2-5wt% water-soluble polymer such as PVA to be dispersed by a ball mill. The obtained dispersions are mixed and applied to a support such as paper to form a heat- sensitive color-forming layer. On this color-forming layer, a coating layer pref. containing a polyhydroxy compound (pref., PVA with a saponification value of 90mol% or more and a polymerization degree of 1,000 or more) and a fluorine surfactant (pref., perfluoroalkyl phosphate shown by the formula) in a wt. ratio of 100:3-20 is provided.

In general, when thermosensitive recording paper is used as recording paper, it has the advantage that recording apparatuses can be made lighter and smaller, and its use has been rapidly increasing in recent years. On the other hand, as a disadvantage of thermal recording paper,
If various chemicals or oils are attached, the recorded image may be discolored or fog may occur. These drawbacks are serious problems in practical use, and improvements are desired.

(1) Fog and color development Main scanning dots / m, sub-scanning 6 dots)/m,
Recording is performed by applying energy of ms/dot and 5osnJ/m2 to the recording element, and the fog (density of the ground before recording) and after recording are measured using a Macbeth ILI)-S/A type reflection fI# meter (using a visual filter). The concentration (initial concentration) of the chromophore was measured.1, (2) Resistance to 1 drug and oil each
