Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a brazing material which provides build-up welding free of a flow of molten metal, by flowing a DC current to an electrolyte consisting essentially of nickel ions and phosphorous acid ions or hypophosphite acid ions, and then grinding phosphorus-containing nickel alloy deposited on a cathode. CONSTITUTION:A DC current is flowed to an electrolyte which contains about 150-300g/l nickel sulfate, about 30-180g/l nickel chloride, and about 30-150g/ l phosphorous acid and/or hypophosphite acid. The pH of the electrolyte is about 0-5, and temperature is about the normal temperature -90 deg.C, and current density is 5-45A/dm<2>. Phosphorus-containing nickel alloy deposited on a cathode plate is peeled from the cathode and then ground. Consequently, a nickel-phosphorus ally powder brazing material is obtained which contains about >=70wt% powder with 100-325 meshes which are optimum particle size, and about 8-9wt% phosphorus.
