CONSTITUTION: In the continuous manufacture of steel sheet plated with Ni-Zn alloy by electroplating, the decrease in the quantity of Ni ions and Zn ions contained in the plating bath is replenished in the form of basic compounds such as basic nickel carbonate, zinc oxide, etc. These compounds form OH ions in the plating soln., so that they not only allows to adjust the pH of the plating bath by neutalization of H ions, they also allows to control the ion concn. by effecting excellent relation corresponding to the change in metallic ion concn., at the same time, pH is corrected automatically. Hereby labors and expenditure for pH control are reduced, and plated steel sheet of high quality is manufactured at a low cost and at improved control precision.
