Abstract

CONSTITUTION: On the ribbon base cloth 1 made of thremally molten primary threads is heaped synthetic resin film 2 which has the same width as the ribbon base cloth or a smaller one, compatibility with the ribbon base cloth and ink opacity. While this is passed by a means like a feed roll on a support base 4 at a suitable speed, the heat source 3 is brought into contact with the middle part in the width direction of the ribbon base cloth to melt the ribbon base cloth linearly, weld the synthetic resin film into that area and provide a separating zone A. Both sides of this separating zone is impregnated or coated with ink different in color to provide a multicolor ink ribbon.
