Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent sticking of refuse to a heat element such as a thermal head by making denatured calcium carbonate contained in a thermal color-developing layer. CONSTITUTION:The denatured calcium carbonate is mixed in the thermal color- developing layer containing colorless or light-colored leuco dye such as triphenylmethane or fluoran and acid material which develops color in reaction to the aforesaid leuco dye in heating, such as boron acid or 3-diethylamino-6-methyl-7- phenyl-fluoran, or a phenolic compound. The denatured calcium carbonate is prepared in such a manner that organic material is made to stick onto the surface thereof or that the surface is coated with the organic material through treatment of the surface of the particles of calcium carbonate with the organic material, and the particle size thereof is about 0.01-20mu. The thermal recording material containing the aforesaid particles has thermal characteristics enabling successful coping with high velocity and high density of picture informations.
