Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a curable composition with improved cure shrinkage, boiling resistance and hot hardness, contg. an SH-terminated prepolymer prepd. by the reaction of a polyisocyanate with a polythiol in a specified ratio and polyene.
CONSTITUTION: A polyisocyanate (e.g., tolylene diisocyanate) and a polythiol (e.g., trimethylolpropane tris-β-mercaptopropionate) are reacted in an SH/NCO mol ratio of 1.5W20, and the resulting prepolymer is mixed with a polyene (e.g., triallyl isocyanurate) generally in a prepolymer/prolyene mol ratio of 1/1 to give a curable composition. A cured product obtained by a conventional curing method is improved remarkably in cure shrinkage, exhibits no whitening and no lowering of strength during boiling, is excellent in hot flexibility, and thus it is most suitable for sealing resin of electronic parts.
