Abstract

PURPOSE:To access a track exactly, by holding a condenser lens so that it can be displaced only in the direction for controlling a focus. CONSTITUTION:An optical head body 10 is constituted so that it is moved only in the direction for accessing a track against a head external housing 20, and a moving body 13 is also constituted so as to be moved only in the direction for controlling a focus against the optical head body 10. Movement of the optical head body 10 and the moving body 13 is controlled by electromagnetic coil part 14, 19 and magnets 17, 21, respectively, therefore, no unnecessary vibration is generated, and its control is executed easily. Also, a light beam irradiated to the disk is moved in parallel with the direction for accessing a track, therefore, its position is detected easily. Furthermore, since the direction of the light beam is diverted by 90 deg. by a mirror 18, dimension of the direction for controlling a focus is made small.
