Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the rise of underground water through foundation sand, and to obviate the corrosion of the bottom plate of a tank by disposing repellent powdered bodies between asphalt sand-oil sand contacting with an outer surface of the bottom plate of the tank and an upper surface of the foundation sand by predetermined thickness.
CONSTITUTION: The repellent powdered bodies 4 are spread all over the foundation sand 3 by prescribed thickness, the asphalt-oil sand 2 is spread all over the repellent powdered bodies 4, and the tank 1 is installed on the sand. When the asphalt sand- oil sand is bent by the subsidence of the ground on earthquake and a crack is formed, the permeation of the underground water from the foundation sand is prevented by repellent powdered bodies, the infiltration of water to the bottom plate 1-1 of the tank is obviated and the corrosion of the bottom plate 1-1 of the tank is arrested.
