Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate liquid leak and prevent the tank from flames, by building a bottomless solid tank and pouring water inbetween the side plate and a concrete case wall and side the side plate and then storing the liquid above the sealing water.
CONSTITUTION: A concrete case 2 is built under the ground with a radial distance h between the side plate 2' of the case 2 and the side plate 10' of tank 10, and slits 11 are made at the bottom of the side plate 10'. Sealing water is introduced from a piping 13 through the clearance h and the slits 11 in the tank 10. Oil 4 is filled in from the roof 10" and stored in the tank above the sealing water 14. When the sealing water 14 increases in the tank 10 by pumping out the oil 4, the level of the sealing water 14 in the clearance h is adjusted to the level of the underground water 8 by means of a pump 12. The vertical movement of the tank 10 during the adjustment is negligible as an underground tank.
