Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the whole system by coding a picture signal to Gray code of m-bit at every picture element then coding it to the form of the band compression and utilizing this band compression system for binary to multiple. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal 14 converted into digital signal by an A//D converter 13, is further converted into a Gray code by a code converter 15. Then, the signal is band compressed by a band compression coding circuit 21, i.e., a picture signal 12 read by a read sensor 11 is A//D converted by the A//D converter 13 and the output 14 is converted into the Gray code by the code converter 15. A code converted signal 16 is stored by a memory 17 and a read switching circuit 19 switches bit sequence 18 of 3 systems in order, then, the sequence is transmitted to a band compression coding circuit 21 in order to subject to band compression.
