Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the penetration and diffusion of O2 and water vapor to a recording layer and the peeling-off of the recording layer and a protective layer, by providing the protective layer with a synthetic resin adhered to a substrate, through the adhered protection on the information recording layer on the substrate. CONSTITUTION:For example, a concentric and discoidal recording layer 6 taking a center hole 5a as the center is formd by a vacuum evaporation method of light reflecting Al and Te, on a disc substrate 5 made of glass or poly(meth)acrylic acid and poly(meth)acrylic acid ester. Next, a protective layer 7 in which the external radius adhered to the recording layer 6 and the surface of the substrate 5 is larger than the external circle of the layer 6 and the inner circulr radius is smaller than the inner circular radius of the layer 6, is formed with a synthetic resin equal or similar to the substrate 5 in adhesive force. When the substrate 5 is made of glass, polysiloxane is used as the protective layer 7, and when the base 5 is made of the said resin, polyvinylchoride, polycarbonate, or poly(meth)acrylic acid ester is used. Thus, an optical information storing medium excellent in the durability can be obtained.
