Abstract

PURPOSE:To change the full scale, by detecting a peak value or average power of a digital output signal and controlling the reference signal of an A/D converter, in the A/D conversion circuit providing AGC function. CONSTITUTION:An input analog signal is inputted to an A/D converter 11 and converted into a digital signal. The output detects a peak or energy level at a circuit 12 and produces a digital signal corresponding to the level. This digital output is converted into ananalog signal at a D/A converter 13 and applied to the A/D converter 11 to make the operation of A/D conversion by taking it as the reference voltage. The A/D converter 11 is an A/D converter using a multiplying D/A converter, and since the multiplying D/A converter is used as a local decoder of A/D converter, the full scale of the A/D converter can be changed by changing the reference voltage.
