Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the cooling effect of a superconducting device and to reduce the operation expenses of the device by effectively utilizing coolant gas evaporated from cryogenic coolant. CONSTITUTION:A passage 12 cooled directly through coolant gas 7 evaporated from cryogenic coolant 2 is provided approximately at the center of an electric conductor 9, and the exhaust side of a cooling tube 6 communicates with a space 11 formed between the conductor 9 and the outer tube 10 through a connector 13. The space 11 is sealed by the prescribed member within an inner tank 3. According to this construction, cryogenic coolant 2 is evaporated to cool a radiation heat shielding plate 5, the coolant gas 7 is then introduced into the space 11 and is utilized for cooling the conductor 9 with the remaining gas having sufficient cooling capacity. Thus, sufficient cooling effect can be obtained with less operation expenses.
