Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform automatic focusing regardless of varieties of interchangeable lenses by providing a focus detector on camera body side, and providing an optical system driving mechanism including a driving motor on lens barrel side. CONSTITUTION:A focus detector 1 provided to a camera body K receives the light from an object past the focusing optical system 3 of a lens barrel B1, and decides whether the focus of the object is matched or deviates forward or backward. A control circuit 2a transmits the signal for forward or backward running or stopping of a motor to terminals k2, k3 according to the output of the detector 1. The terminals k1-k6 are provided to a lens mount flange surface Kf. The terminals l1-l6 corresponding to the camera body side terminals k1-k6 are provided to the lens barrel B1, and the focusing optical system 3 is driven by the above-described signal from the camera body by way of a driving motor M and a driving mechanism G.
