Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute the measurement of distance and the driving a lens at the same time and to shorten a time for focusing by providing an operation means for calculating the quantity of driving the lens obtained by correcting the non-linearily of defocusing quantity based on data peculiar to plural lenses which do not depend on the defocusing quantity and the defocusing quantity. CONSTITUTION:The quantity of deviation between a position on the optical axis of an image surface where the image of an object is formed through a photographic lens 1 and a position on the optical axis of a film surface is detected by a detection means 2 and the quantity of driving a focus group obtained by correcting the non- linearily of the quantity of deviation is calculated in the operation means 3 based on the quantity of deviation and the data peculiar to plural photographic lenses which do not depend on the quantity of deviation. In such a case, if the peculiar data can not be dealt with by using a constant value, the data is generated with a detection signal of the detection means for detecting the positions of respectively moving lenses, or it is selected from a peculiar data series stored in a storage means. Next, the driving quantity is supplied to a driving means 4 so as to control to drive the focus group to a focusing point. Thus, the time until completing AF can be drastically shortened.
