Abstract

PURPOSE: To heighten the charging efficiency of an engine, by providing an air cleaner adjacently to the compressor of a supercharger connected to the intake passage of the engine and by directly opening the intake port of the compressor into the air cleaner.
CONSTITUTION: The compressor C of a supercharger S is connected to the intake passage 9 of an engine. An air cleaner A is provided adjacently to the compressor C. The intake port 11a of the compressor C is directly opened into the air cleaner A. According to this constitution, the entire intake passage 9 of the engine E is made short and the flow resistance of the passage is reduced. As a result, the air is surely supercharged into the engine E to heighten its charging efficiency to increase the output of the engine.
