Abstract

PURPOSE: To install a supercharger on a motor cycle without impairing its outer appearance and imposing any restrictions on the layout of existing parts of the motor cycle, by disposing the supercharger in a dead space formed under a horizontally opposed engine.
CONSTITUTION: A supercharger S consisting of a turbine T and a compressor C is disposed under an engine E. The compressor C is connected to an intake pipe In of the engine E, and resonance chambers 17, 17 are connected to the intake pipe In via branch passages branched respectively from intake passages 10d, 10d which are extended between a pre-chamber 12 and compressor C. Further, a downstream-side exhaust passage 20d is connected to the outlet of the turbine T. The passage 20d is also branched into two passages, and mufflers 21, 21 are connected in these branch passages at their downstream portions. By thus disposing the supercharger in a dead space formed under the engine E, it is enabled to attach a supercharger without making substantial change in the outer appearance of the motor cycle.
