Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect abnormality in a bearing of electric rotary machine in its early stage and to enable to prevent enlargement of trouble by a method wherein the temperature variation ratio of bearing is detected, it is compared with the set value of temperature vairation ratio conformed to running condition, and abnormal condition is detected. CONSTITUTION:A thermoelectric couple 7 is arranged in the neighborhood of the bearing part of electric rotary machine, and the output thereof is inputted in a temperature variation ratio detector 8 to obtain the variation ratio of bearing temperature. Alarm level setting devices 11-13 of the bearing temperature variation ratios conformed to respective running conditions of the electric rotary machine in starting, in normal operation, in stop operation, etc., are provided, and a switch 10 is made to change-over in accordance with running condition to compare the output of the temperature variation ratio detector 8 with the alarm level set value. When the detected value exceeds the set value, a signal is inputted in alarm relays 17-19 to generate an alarm.
