Abstract

PURPOSE:To unnecessite any drain piping by providing evaporating plates which apply capillarity and the lower end of which are immerred in drain pan storage parts, on the rear surfaces of indoor and outdoor heat exchangers, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A humidifying evaporation plate 10 applying capillarity due to woven cloth or the like is arranged on the rear surface of an indoor heat exchanger 9 provided in an indoor unit chamber 3. The lower end 11 of the evaporation plate 10 is immersed in a storage part of a drain pan 12, and the drain is stored therein, whereby dewed water is absorbed at the upper end lower parts by a capillarity. Further, in an outdoor unit chamber 4, an evaporation plate 16, an outdoor heat exchanger 18, a drain pan 19 and a storage part 20 are similarly providee, and the drain pans 12 and 19 are communicated with each other by a balancing pipe 21. moreover, an overflow port 22 is provided on the outdoor side for the time when the drain cannot be processed by evaporation plates 10 and 11 by the drain 6.
