Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled fibers with little coloring at a low coat industrially and readily, by joining electrically conductive layers consisting of titanium oxide particles having electrically conductive films and a solvent-soluble polymer to nonconductive layers consisting of a specific polymer.
CONSTITUTION: Electrically conductive films preferably consisting of zinc oxide or tin oxide essentially are formed on titanium oxide particles. 30W85wt%, based on the total solid content, resultant particles are then added to a solution of a solvent- soluble polymer, e.g. an acrylic polymeric solution, to give a solution containing an electrically conductive layer component. On the other hand, a solution containing a noncondctive layers component consisting of one or more polymers selected from an acrylic polymer, polyurethane, etc. is then prepared. The solutions are subjected to the composite spinning, and the resultant fibers are deawn and heat-treated to give the aimed fibers in which the electrically conductive kayers are joined to the nonconductive layers. The solvent-solble polymer is preferably the same type as the nonconductive polymer for forming the nonconductive layers.
