Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide magnetic powder having excellent permeability, by melting together each prescribed amount of Si, Al and Fe and/or further a prescribed amount of at least one element of V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, etc., by heat-treating the alloy on a specific condition and then pulverized.
CONSTITUTION: Raw material comprising 4W13wt% Si, 4W13wt% Al and the remainder of Fe and/or further 0.01W5wt% in total of at least one element of V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, etc. are molten together and cast. The cast article is next heated at 1,150W1,250°C and then cooled from the temperature to a room temperature at a rate of 0.1W1°C/sec before it is powdered. Magnetic alloy powder suitable for a green compact magnetic core or for a magnetic sheet for magnetic shielding is prepared by the ahove method.
