Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a steel plate for vessels of superior weldability and corrosion resistance after painting by subjecting a steel plate applied with specific Ni plating to cathodic electrolysis treatment under specific conditions thereby forming a specific amount of a chromate film.
CONSTITUTION: Ni plating of 0.015W0.300μm thicknesses is applied on the surface of a steel plate. Thence, this steel plate is subjected to cathodic electrolysis treatment in an aqueous soln. of a chromic acid anhydride of ≤1/10, more preferably ≤1/40 ratio of F-/Cr+6 at ≤20A/dm2, more preferably ≤10A/dm2 electric current density, whereby a chromate film is applied at 2W25mg/m2, more preferably 3W 15mg/m2 film weights expressed in terms of Cr. NH4F, HF, etc. are used for the F-, and the concn. of the chromic acid anhydride is kept at about 5W150g/l. Further, more preferably, the steel plate is rinsed immediately after the electrolysis treatment, and is subjected to high temp. treatment for 0.3W10 seconds with high temp. water of 65W100°C, more preferably 75W95°C temps., and ≥4, more preferably 6W9pH.
