Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the permissible input of a speaker providing mechanical filter, without reduction in efficiency and changing the sound pressure characteristic and with reduced amplitude of oscillation of a drive system, by making the mass of the drive system more than the specified value. CONSTITUTION:Between a drive system (voice coil bobbin 5, voice coil 6, dampers 7, 8 etc.) driving a diaphragm plate 9 and the diaphragm plate 9, the mass of the drive system of a speaker having a compliance of 1X10<-6>m/N or more, e.g., provided with a mechanical filter 11 and an air damper, is taken as 1/4 or more of the mass of the diaphragm plate 9. Thus, the oscillation amplitude of the drive system is reduced without lowering the efficiency of the speaker and without changing the sound pressure characteristics, and the speaker having greater permissible input can be accomplished by decreasing the bottom touch of bobbins and deformed filters.
