Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled molding compound capable of forming efficiently a container excellent in thermal shrinkage resistance, thransparency, mechanical characteristics, etc. which is prepd. by mixing two kinds of polyester particles each having a specified intrinsic viscosity.
CONSTITUTION: 98W50wt% particles of a polyethylene terephthalate (A) of ≥0.6 intrinsic viscosity is blended with 2W50wt% particles of a polyethylene terephthalate of ≥0.5 intrinisic viscosity, which may be higher than that of the component A, different from the component A in intrinsic viscosity by at least 0.03, to prepare a molding compound for a polyester container. A container molded by use of said compound is excellent in thermal shrinkage resistance, transparency, luster, etc. and when used as a container for foods, cosmetics, etc., it is scarcely permeable to water, oxygen, etc. so that no undesirable taste and ordor of the contents are given.
