Abstract
PURPOSE: To make temp. measurement in a high temp. furnace possible without requiring means for water cooling and auxiliary temp. detecting device by enclosing the optical path of a scanning type radiation thermometer with a heat-resistant cylinder having a holed shielding plate at the intermediate.
CONSTITUTION: The optical path of a scanning type radiation meter directed to the object to be measured in a furnace is enclosed by a heat-resistant cylinder having a perforated shielding plate in the intermediate part, and the radiation energy incident from said hole and the radiation energy from the shielding plate part from the circumference thereof are respectively measured, thence the temp. of the object to be measured is operated. For example, a heat-resistant cylinder 16 having a perforated shielding plate 16a is mounted to a scanning type radiation meter 14 placed to face an object 12 to be measured placed in a furnace 10, and a desired temp. is calculated by an operator 18 from the quantity of the radiation energy past the hole 16b and the quantity of the energy from the circumference thereof. At this time, there is no need for water cooling the cylindrical part or measuring the temp. thereof by using thermocouples or the like.
