Abstract

PURPOSE: A rubber is kneaded together with a specific polyurethane paste of high compatibility thereto and they are cured to produce a composition for caulking material that is homogeneous, free from tacking, mechanically strong and stably resistant to water leak and dipping.
CONSTITUTION: The objective substance is selected from a water-swelling polyurethane resin that is pasty, partially cured, e.g., a reaction product between a water- swelling polyurethane prepolymer bearing terminal isocyanate groups and water or a curing agent and a composition of thereof with a liquid rubber, thermoplastic resin or oil. Preferably, a polyurethane of 5,000W200,000cps at 40°C is kneaded together with a rubber and the curing is completed. The water-swelling resin (100pts.wt.) is combined with a rubber (30W200pts.).
