Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a plant growth regulating agent capable of remarkably accelerating the growth of the useful plants above and under the ground, and having excellent safety and high utilization value especially to a transplanted plant, by using a specific hydroxy-benzaldehyde derivative as an active component.
CONSTITUTION: The objective agent contains, as an active component, the hydroxybenzaldehyde derivative of formula (X is OH; R is H, lower alkyl, or lower alkoxy; n is 1W3; m is 1W4; provided that when m is 2W4, Rs may be the same or different) useful as a synthetic raw material of pharmaceuticals, dyes, perfumes, etc., e.g. o-hydroxybenzaldehyde, 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde, etc. The compound may be used singly or as a mixture with a solid or liquid carrier or adjuvants in the form of solution, wettable powder, emulsifiable concentrate, etc. The concentration of the compound in use is preferably 1W1,000ppm.
