Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the best rate of fuel consumption for each load condition of an engine by providing a temperature change-over valve intercommunicating a negative pressure chamber and EGR port in a negative pressure path of a negative pressure control system EGR valve when water temperature in the engine reaches at least a set value.
CONSTITUTION: Secondary air introducing paths 3, 6 are provided with a negative pressure control system EGR valve 1, and a negative pressure path 25 intercommunicating a negative pressure chamber 1a of the EGR valve 1 and EGR port 21 of a carbureter 20 is provided with a temperature change-over valve 2. When water temperature of an engine is lower than a set value this valve 2 intercommunicates the negative chamber 1a and the atmosphere to close valve port 1f without carrying out EGR. Then rich signal is generated from an O2 sensor 15 so that an amount of the secondary air computed by a computer 13 is supplied to an exhaust manifold 17. Also when the water temperature is higher than the set value, the negative pressure chamber 1a communicates to EGR port to be subjected to negative pressure so that the valve port 1f is opened in response to each load to supply corrected secondary air to an intake pipe 18 through a path 3.
